Job Summary
Conduct classroom instruction, closed course, and behind-the-wheel training for new drivers, including MVA Pre-Trip inspections and route learning. Deliver refresher and post-accident training to current operators, while monitoring Drive-Cam compliance and coaching staff on safety regulations. Facilitate safety meetings, lead accident investigations, and write reports on incidents and employee performance. Assist with curriculum development, facility inspections, and emergency responses, including working outside in all weather conditions. Report to the Safety and Training Manager with a varying schedule to accommodate all shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess at least 2 years of direct experience in Commercial Vehicle Operation - Class B or higher with Passenger endorsement and no airbrakes (L) restriction
- Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License Class B or higher with Passenger (P) endorsement and no air brake (L) restrictions
- At least 2 years of direct experience in Training/Instructing
- At least 1 year of direct experience in performing transit safety duties
- Must acquire and maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Card)
- Fluency in English
- Ability and availability to work non-standard hours/days (i.e. nights, weekends, early mornings, etc)
- High-school diploma or GED equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Over 2 years of experience facilitating training and conducting driver/operator evaluations in a transit setting
- Over 1 year of experience assisting in the administration of a public transit safety program
- Fluency in additional languages
- Associate degree or higher
