Job Summary
Safety Trainer leads the site's safety training strategy across all facilities and shifts, developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs; maintaining training compliance and records; managing required certifications and recertifications; supporting onboarding, safety communications, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, HR, and site leadership to drive safety awareness, identify training needs, and ensure timely execution of OSHA/DHEC-aligned safety programs, forklift training, shift-supervisor safety curriculum, certification matrices, and related documentation. Responsible for scheduling, tracking, and escalating overdue trainings, maintaining records and sign-in rosters, and supporting inspections, vendor/or contractor orientation, and stop-work authority guidance; knowledge of current OSHA and DHEC requirements relevant to recordkeeping and training; serves as a qualified evaluator of record under 29 CFR 1910.178(I) for operator evaluations and recertifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience acceptable
- Minimum of 3 years of safety experience in manufacturing, warehouse, pharmaceutical, or industrial setting
- Working knowledge of OSHA workplace safety and DHEC environmental standards
- Qualified, or able to qualify, as a powered industrial truck evaluator under 29 CFR 1910.178(l)
- Strong communication skills and credible floor presence
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
