Safety Technician

Job Summary
Conduct daily site surveillance to verify PPE use, perform routine equipment inspections, and detect hazardous conditions on project fields. Enforce organizational policies for health, safety, and risk management while assisting in developing and maintaining ES&H programs, systems, and procedures. Lead teams in risk assessments, mitigation planning, and incident investigations; prepare reports, track safety metrics, and coordinate with engineering, construction, and subcontractors to address ES&H issues. Develop and deliver training courses, support emergency preparedness programs, and implement process improvements to minimize hazard potential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Associate degree or technical apprenticeship preferred
- OSHA 30 or higher
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience related to environmental, health, or science related disciplines
- Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 required
- Can perform root cause analysis as needed for incident investigations
- Knowledge of safety programs/engineering systems, principles, and methodologies
- Knowledge of national safety laws/regulations and regulatory agencies' regulatory requirements and responsibilities, industry standards/current practices for ES&H, and management practices for minimizing potential ES&H risks during project execution
- Knowledge of hazardous materials and physical risks and the mechanisms to mitigate them
- Experience in ES&H assessments/inspection during construction and commissioning phase
- Experience in managing and/or providing technical oversight of ES&H subcontractors or consultants
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and office management software
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strict professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all company levels
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Familiarity with HR practices, regulatory requirements, and compliance issues
- Perform work at heights from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, roofs, or other areas occasionally or as job requires
- Able to positively identify colors of wires
