Job Summary
Promote and reinforce a Behavioral Based Safety culture by supervising daily safety and compliance activities across assigned operations. Conduct safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews while investigating accidents to identify root causes and recommend preventative measures. Ensure driver qualification files, licensing records, and medical certifications are maintained per DOT and FMCSA regulations. Administer onboard safety technology programs including DriveCam and Samsara, deliver driver training, and coordinate new hire orientations. Monitor safety performance metrics to prepare reports and trend analyses for operational leadership. Partner with Operations Managers to ensure consistent application of safety policies and support internal, client, and regulatory audits. Requires flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience in passenger transportation, fleet operations, safety, compliance, or a related field
- Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory, lead, or transportation safety experience
- Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
- Excellent communication, coaching, and training skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends to drive safety improvements
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends as operational needs require
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
