Job Summary
Lead the Distribution Center's safety, food safety, risk management, asset protection, and regulatory compliance programs by developing, implementing, and monitoring initiatives that prevent injuries and ensure product integrity. Identify risks, drive corrective actions, and foster a culture of accountability by partnering with operations, maintenance, and regulatory agencies including OSHA and FDA to conduct investigations, audits, and inspections. Analyze incident and operational data to evaluate exposure and develop preventive actions while overseeing workers' compensation, claims management, and food safety management systems. Develop and deliver training programs, coordinate product recalls, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Requires an associate degree or 3–5 years of relevant experience and proficiency with data analysis tools. Flexible schedule and travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Food Safety, Environmental Sciences, Business, or a related field
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in safety, risk management, food safety, supply chain, warehouse operations, or a related field
- Working knowledge of OSHA, FDA, FSMA, workers' compensation, environmental, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Experience conducting investigations, risk assessments, audits, inspections, and corrective action management
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to travel as business needs require
- Position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
- Regular use of computers, mobile devices, telephones, and other office equipment is required
- Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and lifting may be necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, ARM, GSP, HACCP, PCQI, SQF Practitioner, Internal Food Safety Auditor, or equivalent safety and food safety certifications preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, training, and analytical skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools
