Safety Specialist - Substation (Electrical Construction)

Job Summary

Develop and enforce comprehensive safety plans for substation construction projects while monitoring sites to identify and mitigate hazards. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other industry standards. Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for employees, subcontractors, and project managers. Prepare detailed safety reports and collaborate with site management to promote a culture of safety. Requires five years of experience in electrical construction safety leadership, relevant certifications such as OSHA 500 or CSP, and willingness to travel across the U.S. for project assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a safety leadership role within electrical construction, specifically substation projects
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA 70E standards
  • Experience conducting site inspections
  • Experience conducting audits
  • Experience conducting accident investigations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across the U.S. as required
