Job Summary
Conduct monthly safety training sessions and inspections at remote shops, warehouses, and job sites to enforce compliance with OSHA regulations and company protocols. Identify workplace hazards, review accident reports for root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to minimize injuries. Manage driver's license reviews, monitor fleet telematics data, and assist in incident investigations and workers' compensation claims. Evaluate and revise safety training programs while maintaining PPE and hazard communication files. Travel regularly to various facilities for audits and training, with potential overnight travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and best practices in safety management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations and training to a variety of audiences
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with employees and management at all levels
- Ability to effectively teach, coach, and counsel employees on safety protocols and procedures
- Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate leadership in safety initiatives
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- 1-3 years of experience in a health or safety-related field
- OSHA 30 certification required; candidates with OSHA 10 and a commitment to obtain OSHA 30 within 60 days of hire will be considered
- Must be able to travel regularly to various facilities for safety inspections, audits, and training sessions
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, or driving long distances to shop locations for meetings and site visits
- Ability to lift 25+ pounds as needed
- Overnight travel may be required for several nights per month
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in the construction industry is preferred
- Experience with fleet telematics systems (e.g., Samsara) is a plus
