Job Summary
Maintain thorough working knowledge of company policies and safety guidelines to ensure injuries are prevented and regulatory requirements are adhered to. Perform and review incident investigations for all incidents and near misses, while conducting documented safety inspections and observations. Provide comprehensive safety training to new and existing employees, including refresher training and re-training upon accidents. Analyze safety data for trends, deficiencies, or improvements and formulate plans to address them. Implement, enforce, and oversee 6S in all areas of the warehouse, and assist Operations with improvement projects by researching requirements and evaluating safety compliance. Coordinate safety committee teams, develop action plans for safety initiatives, and communicate updates on regulations and programs to management and all employees.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Business Administration or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in warehouse environment
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Strong knowledge of Safety Rules & Regulations
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven basic trainer/facilitator skills and the ability to create training curriculum, conduct training sessions, and instruct safety classes
- Leadership skills, such as the ability to motivate a team and provide feedback
- Ability to work independently with little supervision – self-directed
- Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching and handling of items up to 50 lbs
- Moderate Hand-Eye coordination, near vision, far vision and hearing
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Business Administration or related field is preferred
- Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) is preferred
- 6S Knowledge preferred
