Job Summary
Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to support safe, patient-centered care by conducting environmental and room safety checks, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with protocols. Perform frequent or constant patient observations, document location and behavior, and promptly report safety concerns to nursing staff. Assist with managing patient belongings, responding to patient needs, and encouraging participation in treatment activities. Complete all required clinical and safety documentation while maintaining a therapeutic milieu. Deliver trays, monitor meal intake, and provide fresh air breaks as requested. Ensure visitors' items are inspected before patient access and prioritize work based on changing needs.
Required Qualifications
- AHA BLS CPR required or obtained within 60 days of hire
- DMH approved hands on de-escalation training within 30 days of hire for DMH certified units and 60 days for other locations
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Patient care, Mental Health/Behavioral Health or security experience
