Job Summary
Implement site-specific safety programs compliant with OSHA, EPA, and company standards while conducting regular inspections, behavioral observations, and risk assessments across high-voltage, chemical, and automated systems. Assist in creating Job Safety Analyses, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and confined space entry programs, then serve as a visible safety presence to coach employees and ensure compliance. Participate in incident investigations for near-misses, document findings, and track corrective actions to completion. Conduct training for employees, contractors, and supervisors on onboarding, refresher topics, and job-specific instruction. Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, audits, permits, and training records while collaborating with engineering to identify hazards during equipment installation and process design. Provide support to the Emergency Response Team for drills, spill response, and evacuation coordination, and assist in implementing digital safety systems for tracking metrics. Occasional off-shift support or weekend response may be required depending on plant activities or emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of safety experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial settings
- Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry regulations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead safety discussions and influence employee behaviour
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using digital safety platforms
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear
- Walking is required for at least 50% of the workday to perform duties
- Must be able to work in industrial and construction environments including heat, noise, and use of PPE
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Kingston, GA
- Occasional off-shift support or weekend response may be required depending on plant activities or emergencies
Desired Qualifications
- Numerous years of industrial experience
- 511 & 501 (Highly Recommended)
- Prior experience in lithium-ion battery manufacturing, chemical handling, or high-voltage operations
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days)
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NFPA 855, and emergency planning standards
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 management systems
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not required
