Safety Specialist

Job Summary
Develop and provide safety training for employees on policies, regulations, and procedures. Conduct thorough accident investigations to find root causes and identify trends from leading and lagging indicators. Visit job sites and conduct inspections frequently across office staff, drivers, service departments, construction sites, and fabrication shops. Recommend, warn, and advise all levels of employees regarding hazards and appropriate corrective measures. Support company employees with various safety initiatives and promote the company's safety culture. Travel to various work sites in all weather conditions as needed, with possible extended stationing at a job site. Must be able to drive to locations within PA and surrounding states with mileage reimbursed. Full-time position with no sponsorship required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety or related field and/or 2 years of experience in the safety field supporting a safety program
- Must be able to drive to locations within PA and other surrounding states (mileage reimbursed)
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- This is a non-management position
- This is a full time position
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to manage and/or monitor multiple projects and activities occurring simultaneously
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Programs and Internet applications
- Be willing to obtain training to become more job knowledgeable
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation and coaching skills
- Ability to work with and build positive relationships with employees
