Job Summary
Begin shifts on the production floor to observe, audit, and interact with employees, ensuring teams understand risks and have necessary safety resources. Monitor sites for compliance with health, safety, and environmental legal requirements, while performing near miss and incident investigations to lead root cause analysis and develop corrective actions. Identify unsafe acts and conditions, document findings, and follow through to ensure improvements are made. Conduct new hire orientations, train contractors, and lead emergency preparedness drills for fire and severe weather. Compile safety data, prepare reports, and ensure all daily, quarterly, and annual inspections are completed. Support crisis management and represent Safety in meetings to identify training opportunities and address safety concerns during new product introductions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in safety (OHS)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working full-time in a Safety position in a Manufacturing / Assembly environment
- Board Certified Safety Professional Certifications (ASP, CSP, OHST, etc., or equivalent)
- Electrical Safety
- Control of Hazardous Energy
- NAPF 70 E
- Minimum of 1 year of construction site safety experience
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain professional and calm in stressful situations
- Ability to immediately correct unsafe acts and unsafe conditions with all levels of employees
- Native Proficiency or Full Professional Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
- Detailed knowledge of HSE regulatory requirements
- OSHA general industry
- OSHA construction
- Proficient in working in Office 365 programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have a reliable vehicle to travel to work or other facilities to support safety
- Must be willing to travel to and support other local Maverick Power facilities as needed
- Must have full range of dexterity in all body parts
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work from heights as needed
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat
- Must be able to push and pull carts, dollies, pallet jacks, etc...
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to identify the full spectrum of colors
- Must have vision correctable to 20/20
- Must be able to perform work while wearing safety glasses
- Contact lenses are not allowed in manufacturing/production areas
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in Vietnamese and or Spanish is a plus, but not required
