Job Summary
Safety Specialist to implement and audit the Site Specific Safety Plan on an active construction site in Aiken, SC. responsibilities include supporting contract safety expectations, applying corporate safety manuals and procedures, verifying work plans and adherence, problem-solving with operations and craft, assisting with corrective measures, maintaining accident/injury files, assisting with first aid and EMS relationships, conducting incident investigations, performing daily hazard inspections, and delivering safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA requirements, NCCER, SIMS, orientation, and client-specific requirements. Requires field-based collaboration with the Project Safety Manager and craft teams, with a focus on maintaining safety program buy-in, compliance, and safe work execution. The role is full-time and on-site with no remote work.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of safety experience
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field is preferred
- Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements within commercial nuclear/DOE settings is desired
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to access construction sites in varied environments
