Safety Specialist II (Dallas/East Texas)

Job Summary
The Safety Specialist II is responsible for providing front-line HSE support, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a positive safety culture. Key responsibilities include assisting in the guidance and training of Safety Stewards, implementing and facilitating training programs, developing hazard control methods, and managing safety incidents. Ideal candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in a safety environment, a strong understanding of relevant regulations, exceptional communication skills in both English and Spanish, and a bachelor's degree in safety or a related field. Candidates must also complete annual reviews of all safety programs and conduct job site audits.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Safety environment
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations, such as those from OSHA and the EPA
- Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience in Safety and Health Program Management
- Experience with Safety, Health & Environmental Laws, Regulations and Standards
- Experience with System and Process Safety
- Experience with Occurrence, Investigation and Analysis
- Experience with Industrial Processes
- Experience within OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other State and Federal programs
- Ability to communicate safety policies and procedures to a diverse workforce
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge in Telecom and utility infrastructure Operations
- Understanding of Behavior-Based Safety programs
- Technical writing skills
- Strong leadership skills and attributes
- Able to motivate, inspire, and coach others, to maximize safe behaviors.
- Passion for Safety Management
- Understanding of U.S. regulatory environmental programs
- Familiar with Operational Qualification (OQ) testing and requirements
- Aerial Lift training
- Forklift Training
