Safety Specialist

Job Summary
Conduct routine safety inspections, perform incident and near-miss investigations, and assist with root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement. Support implementation of workplace safety policies, coordinate employee training, and monitor compliance with PPE and safe work practices. Maintain safety documentation, track metrics, and partner with Production, Engineering, Facilities, and Human Resources to promote a proactive safety culture. Assist supervisors with hazard identification, ergonomic evaluations, and workers' compensation investigations while staying current on OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Human Resources, Manufacturing, or a related field
- 2+ years of workplace safety experience in manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, logistics, or industrial operations
- Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry (29 CFR 1910) regulations
- Experience conducting safety inspections and incident investigations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coach employees and supervisors on safe work practices
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to walk the production floor for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- OSHA 30 certification
- CPR/First Aid certification
