Job Summary
Construction Safety Professional responsible for delivering and sustaining site-wide safety programs on construction projects. Partner with General Contractors to implement effective safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA 29 CFR 1926), and promote a proactive safety culture. Lead routine site safety inspections and audits, support pre-task planning (PTP), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), permit programs, and incident investigations. Facilitate new hire orientations and toolbox talks; mentor and train field personnel on OSHA standards and company policies; prepare and maintain safety documentation, reports, and metrics for project leadership; engage with workers and site leadership to sustain a positive safety culture. Requires active field presence, ability to influence field teams, and strong verbal/written communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (required, within the last 5 years)
- First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification (required)
- Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience (preferred supporting a General Contractor)
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926)
- Experience in complex, fast-paced construction environments
- Knowledge of high-risk activities (electrical safety, fall protection, confined space, crane operations)
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with field teams, supervisors, and management
- Strong hazard recognition, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or safety management systems
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred (not required)
- BCSP certifications (STS-C, CHST, CSP) preferred
- OSHA 510/500, NFPA 70E, or other relevant certifications preferred
