Safety Specialist

Job Summary

Monitor workplace activities to ensure employee compliance with safety regulations and coordinate client safety requirements. Identify opportunities to minimize injuries, accidents, and health problems by conducting inspections, audits, and equipment reviews. Draft internal safety standards, conduct employee training on applicable standards, and review reported accidents to assist with the Workers Compensation process. Track certifications and training records, including OSHA and toolbox talks, while completing vendor packets for clients. Requires knowledge of OSHA standards, strong communication skills, and ability to travel to multiple locations.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct training
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Travel to multiple locations as required

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred
  • One year of related experience preferred
