Job Summary
Lead and drive key OHS improvement initiatives at Lytton Refinery to achieve zero harm, ensuring contractor HSE alignment with site safety rules. Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements while managing site activities to meet Work Health & Safety standards. Foster a strong safety culture through regular field presence, inspections, and coaching to proactively manage health, safety, and environmental risks. Review and update policies aligned with WHS legislation and best practice, providing expert OHS guidance across operations, maintenance, and contractor teams. Lead HSE planning for major Turnaround & Inspection events, including safety management plans and high-risk work oversight. Monitor refinery WHS performance and deliver strategic training programs to continuously improve safety outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (minimum Diploma level) or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated proven experience in a safety professional role within manufacturing, mining, construction, refining, or similar high risk industries
- Strong experience compiling and analysing safety data, with the ability to recommend and implement action plans to achieve measurable outcomes
- Demonstrated expertise in risk management processes, hazard identification, and technical problem-solving
- Proven track record in developing and delivering safety improvement initiatives and programs
- Experience facilitating training, leading group sessions, and delivering engaging presentations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive behavioural change across diverse teams
