Job Summary
Monitor the building, entrances, common areas, and surrounding property while investigating suspicious activity and prohibited conduct such as unauthorized visitors or substance use. Respond appropriately to emergencies, disturbances, and safety threats by reporting to staff, alerting management, or coordinating with local emergency responders. Intervene in conflict situations to de-escalate disruptive behavior using safe communication techniques and address fire alarms or medical incidents according to established protocols. Participate in required emergency drills and safety training, while documenting incidents, accidents, and maintenance issues in incident reports and logs. Maintain a respectful and professional presence with residents, staff, and guests to enforce building policies consistently.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in security, residential services, behavioral health, or human services
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
- Demonstrated de-escalation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Ability to effectively and appropriately interact with individuals with mental health concerns substance use disorders and/or disabilities
