Job Summary
Safety Scientist III – Real World Evidence (RWE) in the EMEA region focusing on planning, coordination, and delivery of signal detection and safety analyses across diverse safety datasets. Responsibilities include mentoring junior colleagues, developing processes/tools/systems, leading smaller FSP-type projects, collaborating with Safety Evidence Leads and stakeholders globally to generate safety insights, building safety evidence platforms/dashboards, exploring AI/machine learning opportunities, identifying data gaps, ensuring reproducibility and traceability of analyses, and supporting pharmacoepidemiologic studies. Requires 5+ years of data-analysis experience in pharma/biotech or healthcare, proficiency with safety databases (e.g., Argus Safety), ability to translate findings into actionable plans, and travel up to 20%. Strong background in data visualization, statistics, and programming (R, SAS, Python) is highly desirable; familiarity with GCP/GVP and regulated environments is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Data Science, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years working in pharmaceutical/biotech industry or related data analysis role
- Experience with safety databases (e.g., Argus Safety) and large healthcare data sources
- Ability to travel up to 20% of time
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI) and statistical programming languages (R, SAS, Python)
- Experience in RWE generation, pharmacoepidemiology or rare diseases is a plus
- Experience mentoring/jleading projects (FSP-type) is a plus
