Job Summary
Conduct safety inspections using SafetyNet, performing at least 15 monthly inspections with 100 observations each, and audit project team implementation of safety plans. Ensure contractor compliance with Gilbane safety plans through scope reviews, preconstruction meetings, and JHA reviews while maintaining all safety documentation. Investigate accidents and near misses, provide training on Gilbane, client, and OSHA requirements, and recommend corrective actions for hazardous situations. Assist Corporate and Division Safety Directors with administration support, coordinate software integration efforts, and manage the rollout of safety training programs including ergonomic and First Aid/CPR/AED instruction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety Management or Engineering preferred
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques, and methods
- Knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations, and policies
- Capable of identifying known potential exposures and recommending corrective action
- Computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
