Job Summary
Promote the Gilbane Cares safety culture by ensuring contractor activities are preplanned through scope reviews, preconstruction meetings, and JHA reviews. Maintain all safety documentation, audit project team implementation using SafetyNet, and perform at least 15 monthly inspections with 100 observations each. Investigate accidents and near misses, complete required paperwork, and provide training on Gilbane, client, and OSHA requirements. Make recommendations for hazardous situations and ensure teams have necessary safety equipment. This entry-level role supports all safety efforts on projects for a top-10 ENR contractor building schools, hospitals, and corporate offices.
Required Qualifications
- 0-1 years of relevant experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques, and methods
- Knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations, and policies
- Capable of identifying known potential exposures and recommending corrective action
- Computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Desired Qualifications
- Safety or Engineering college level coursework preferred
