Job Summary
Sitting with patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, self-harm, or other risk behaviors to enable them to maintain function during their hospital stay. Monitor patient safety and assist with keeping the emergency department environment secure. Provide nursing support and teamwork to ensure patient safety in a 53-bed unit where approximately 10% of emergencies are trauma-related. This role requires a High School Diploma and Basic Life Support certification, with prior healthcare experience preferred. Work a full-time third shift (nights) at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must be available for Third (Nights) shift
- Must be able to sit with patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, self-harm, or other risk behaviors
Desired Qualifications
- Prior Healthcare Experience
- Enrollment in a Health Sciences Program
