Job Summary
Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to maintain a safe workplace. Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement. Collaborate with department heads to ensure safety measures align with operational needs and communicate guidelines to all levels of the organization. Provide safety training and orientation for employees, contractors, and visitors. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions while maintaining accurate records. Monitor compliance with safety regulations and participate in emergency response procedures when necessary. Stay updated with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Proven experience (X+ years) as a Safety Officer or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Analytical mindset to assess risks and recommend solutions
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams
- Problem-solving skills to address safety challenges
- Commitment to promoting a safety-focused culture
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH) is a plus
