Job Summary
Conduct site observations, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, FDOT, and internal policies. Communicate with departments to develop training plans that eliminate hazards using engineered systems or personal protective equipment. Investigate near misses and incidents by coordinating evidence preparation to determine root causes and corrective actions. Provide first-aid care for minor injuries and represent the company with third-party regulatory agencies. Prepare reports on unsafe findings and communicate them to appropriate authorities. Maintain required case management records while communicating with management, staff, and medical providers.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of field experience in the construction industry (or years of experience may be substituted by bachelor's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, civil engineering, or construction management)
- Must pass background check and drug screen
- Possess/maintain a valid State driver's license
- Must be flexible to work variable shifts, and some Saturdays
- Must be able to work extended hours on short notice during irregular operation
- Basic computer skills with some competency in Microsoft word/excel
- Excellent communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time
- Ability to travel within the state of Florida, overnight stay minimal
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders outdoors for an extended period of time
