Job Summary
Under general supervision, monitors activities of employees to ensure compliance with City, state and federal health and safety policies, procedures and regulations. Essential duties include processing claims, meeting with claimants and documenting scenes; coordinating drug and alcohol testing; processing workers’ compensation claims; conducting site and facility inspections with department heads and contractors; meeting with employees and supervisors about safety issues; assisting with incident investigations and reporting; maintaining confidentiality; and supporting public relationships and emergency readiness. The role requires knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety program operations, investigations and inspections, and strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with City staff, the public, and external partners.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Five years of experience in employee health and safety operations
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possession of a valid Texas driver’s license
