Job Summary
School Safety Monitor Aide role at Aiken County Public Schools involves patrolling hallways, entrances, and common areas to ensure student safety, building rapport with students to encourage positive behavior, de-escalating conflicts, collaborating with staff to maintain a safe school environment, and supporting arrival/dismissal procedures. Required Qualifications
- Meets Highly Qualified standards as defined by the Every Student Succeeds Act: Associate’s Degree preferred, or High School diploma or general education degree with 60 hours college credit from an accredited college, or passing score on the ParaPro exam.
- Previous experience working with students or in a security-related field is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students and staff.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- A commitment to creating a positive, respectful, and safe school environment.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and supervise various areas of the school throughout the day.
