Job Summary
Lead, design, and implement initial and recurrent training programs for transportation personnel while supervising driver trainers to establish objectives, standards, and accountability. Proactively recruit individuals for driver roles, providing classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction to ensure successful completion of testing. Administer random and pre-employment drug/alcohol testing programs, develop driver safety meetings, and investigate personal injuries, vehicle accidents, and customer service complaints by conducting on-scene investigations and preparing reports. Maintain the Safe Driver Award Program and provide ongoing performance evaluations for all driver employees.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- CDL B with Passenger
- Must complete company certification program
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and transportation related software
- Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and group presentation skills
- Well-developed multi-tasking and time management skills
- Ability to provide direction, coaching and mentoring to employees while creating an environment that encourages and values input and feedback
- Ability to respond to unanticipated events to ensure excellence in customer service
- Ability to Investigate claims and incidents of questionable conduct, accidents etc
- Computer literacy skills in word processing and spreadsheets
Desired Qualifications
- Some college
- 3 years as a Trainer in transportation industry
- Supervisory experience preferred; specifically experience supervising/training a driver workforce
- Equivalent work experience as a Trainer can be substituted as appropriate
