Job Summary

Act as a strategic partner to operations and leaders on all occupational health and safety matters, providing guidance to Safety and Asset Protection Advisors and Safety Managers. Lead regulatory compliance initiatives across all Tolko operating jurisdictions and drive implementation of safety standards with a focus on leadership behaviors and culture. Partner with Woodlands Managers to develop contractor safety programs, coach leaders to strengthen accountability, and oversee the Claims Management Program. Develop and deliver OHS and safety leadership training, while executing internal and external audit programs to measure compliance. Report on safety performance, inspections, and regulatory changes to leadership and external stakeholders. This role involves up to 70% travel depending on the office location.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 7-10 years experience in a senior occupational health and safety role
  • Proven experience collaborating across multiple sites to influence real, on-the-ground change
  • Strong understanding of Canadian and U.S. occupational health and safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with operational leaders to embed safety into daily decision-making
  • Strong business acumen and curiosity to understand operations, risks, and production realities
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to front-line teams, operational leaders, and executive leadership
  • Track record of developing, implementing, and auditing safety programs and policies
  • Experience in training program development and delivery
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and report-writing skills
  • Capacity to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional certification in Occupational Health and Safety (such as CRSP, CSP, or equivalent) preferred
