Safety Manager

Job Summary

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws by monitoring safety regulations, managing OSHA recordkeeping, and conducting onsite inspections. Implement safety protocols, coordinate hazard control systems, and compile accident reports to evaluate effectiveness. Develop and deliver training for new employees and field staff, including annual refresher sessions. Provide advice on compliance regulations and communicate safety parameters to clients and vendors. Actively participate in meetings to suggest improvements and facilitate safety discussions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a utilities or construction safety role
  • Knowledge of Federal and State safety regulations
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Outgoing personality, self-motivated
  • Excellent customer service, telephonic, electronic, and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with, persuade, and gain buy-in from a broad range of stakeholders from a new crew to senior executive leader
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Must have organization, attention to detail, flexibility, and strong ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision
  • Must embrace a team based, initiative driven environment
  • Must possess a high level of technical expertise
  • Must be open to some travel
  • All applicants who are offered employment with Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC (TPC), will be subject to a background investigation and drug test

Desired Qualifications

  • Preferred CHST, CUSP (Electric T&D endorsement)
  • Preferred 510 training completion
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a utilities or construction safety role, preferably in electrical utility construction
