Job Summary
Oversee occupational health and safety programs, analyze trends, and ensure regulatory compliance across project sites within the District. Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and equipment maintenance reviews while managing permits and certifications to avoid construction delays. Provide technical expertise for training needs, support emergency response planning, and approve Daily Hazard Analysis and evacuation protocols. Investigate injuries, review corrective action plans, and develop mitigation strategies for onsite risks. Deliver project status and trend analysis to the manager and team. This role supports the Pleasure Bay Main Pump Station replacement in Monmouth Beach, contributing to critical municipal infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years' experience in construction or safety
- Experience managing construction or safety teams
- Developed skills identifying and mentoring direct report safety professionals
- Able to provide training and learning opportunities for construction teams based on expert safety knowledge and standard safety principles
- Proven skill to identify onsite project safety risks and develop innovative and compliant mitigation strategies within safety program and agency requirement standards
- Expert knowledge of construction site equipment, methods and processes
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with all levels of the organization

- Bachelor's Degree in Health & Safety or a related field preferred
