Safety Manager - Santa Teresa (34265)

Job Summary

Manage field safety staff, surveys, audits, and investigations while collecting data to support daily project operations. Ensure daily Velocity reports are submitted and reviewed for completeness, then follow up with coordinators and site supervision to enforce corrective actions for deficiencies. Investigate and document accidents, incidents, and near misses, communicating findings with the Safety Director. Maintain current knowledge of CEC policies, provide guidance to project leadership, and develop corrective action plans for observed risks during site visits. Monitor subcontractor performance and maintain records meeting corporate and regulatory requirements. Work with senior leadership on pre-construction activities to ensure safe execution. Travel may be required, including some overnight shifts, and the role involves on-call availability for emergencies, bad weather, and site delays.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in Occupational Safety or Health
  • Recognized certification as a Safety Professional i.e., CSP, ASP, CHST, STS, CSHO-C
  • OSHA 500 & 501 and associated competent person training
  • Minimum of 5–7 years' progressive experience in the management of safety and health processes
  • A minimum of 5 years' management level experience
  • Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
  • Must be able to travers and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, lift and /or move up to 75 pounds
  • Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed
  • Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest), as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual preferred: English /Spanish
  • Some overnight travel may be required
