Job Summary
Safety Manager role focused on on-site field safety inspections, project safety audits, safety talks, and training of project employees on OSHA-related topics across an infrastructure services division. Responsible for developing safety policies and procedures to prevent harm, enhancing safety culture in highway infrastructure management, traveling to regional sites, leading required safety training, conducting inspections and audits, assisting with client safety meetings, preparing safety reports and trend analysis, researching industry safety standards, and implementing initiatives to reduce insurance and workers’ compensation costs. Requires strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to travel, and proven ability to engage diverse teams in safety processes.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to energize and influence at the leadership level
- Strong interpersonal skills including facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution
- Works well with a variety of individuals
- Willing and able to travel for work when needed
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, set, and execute work plans
- Solid analytical, organizational, prioritization and project management skills
- Demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication skills, oral and written skills
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate a message in a clear and precise manner
- Dependable and highly organized with business maturity, discretion, enthusiasm, and positive attitude
- Is capable of establishing and nurturing longstanding relationships with industry professionals
- Adapts well to shifting situations and variable environments
