Job Summary
Lead, develop, and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures across Hawaii operations while ensuring compliance with OSHA and Hawaii regulations. Conduct jobsite safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and risk assessments across multiple project sites, investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions. Deliver construction safety training for field employees and partners with corporate teams to align initiatives with company-wide standards. Analyze safety metrics, recommend process improvements, and implement technology-driven tools to enhance reporting and compliance. Manage assigned budgets, evaluate vendor proposals, and serve as the primary safety resource for field staff. Travel throughout Oahu using a personal vehicle and work 45–50 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction safety experience in Hawaii supporting multiple jobsites and multiple construction trades including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire and life safety systems, carpentry, drywall, painting, tile, excavation and trenching, asphalt and concrete, hoisting and rigging, and related trades
- Experience developing, implementing, and managing construction safety programs and policies
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action planning
- Experience delivering safety training for construction field personnel
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, Hawaii OSHA (HIOSH), and Hawaii-specific construction safety regulations
- Knowledge of statewide and local construction compliance and infrastructure safety requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 25–50 lbs., regularly walk, and regularly climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to travel approximately 30% using a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
- Ability to work 45–50 hours/week, with 1 day/week remote after established
