Job Summary
Safety Manager at ND Paper's Sturtevant, WI plant leads regulatory compliance, incident management, hazard identification, training, and safety culture across all shifts. The role requires hands-on floor presence, ownership of OSHA recordkeeping (including 300/300A), incident investigations with root-cause analysis, and development of a comprehensive training matrix. Key responsibilities include maintaining permits and postings, conducting floor safety audits, leading corrective actions, coordinating workers' compensation, and driving safety metrics (KPIs such as TRIR, DART, and near-miss reporting). The candidate should bring manufacturing safety experience, knowledge of OSHA standards, and strong documentation/reporting skills; ASP or CSP certification is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of safety management experience in a manufacturing environment (corrugated, paper, printing or packaging preferred)
- Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry standards
- Experience managing OSHA recordkeeping, incident investigations, and corrective action systems
- Ability to work across all shifts with visible floor presence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred
