Job Summary
The Safety Manager role is responsible for promoting a proactive safety culture and administering the safety program for projects across the Omaha market. Responsibilities include monitoring safety programs with on-site subcontractors and employees, ensuring new hires have proper safety documentation, conducting documented safety and health inspections at least twice per month, coordinating with project supervision for PPE and first-aid materials, investigating injuries and reviewing accident reports, enforcing safety policies, conducting weekly toolbox meetings, and recording and forwarding safety-related meetings and documents to the Division Safety Director for tracking.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience managing safety efforts of large healthcare, commercial, industrial, or similar construction projects
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
- OSHA 500 and BCSP certifications preferred
- Ability to travel or relocation within the region as needed
- Ability to work with all construction groups - management, owners, trades and subcontractors
- Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills
