Job Summary

Collaborate daily with craft teams in the field to enforce safety programs and exercise Stop Work Authority. Plan, prioritize, and problem-solve with operations based on leading indicator trends while reviewing work plans and packs before daily start times. Complete documented hazard inspections, assist with corrective actions, and maintain project files compliant with OSHA/MSHA regulations. Support incident investigations, provide safety training on policies and client requirements, and assist with first aid and emergency service relationships. Report to the Project Safety Manager on an active DOE construction site in Aiken, SC, requiring daily on-site presence and availability for overtime and weekends as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of experience as a Safety Manager
  • Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements within the commercial nuclear and DOE settings
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
  • Regular, reliable attendance
  • Work productively and meet deadlines timely
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
  • Perform work safely and effectively
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines
  • Work overtime and weekends as required

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study is preferred
