Safety Manager

Job Summary

Ensure compliance with all Federal and State safety and health regulations by providing proactive leadership to establish a safety culture. Assist with company safety audits and inspections, coordinating action plans to resolve findings. Maintain documentation for the Safety Management Plan, OSHA, and other applicable regulations while working with plant management to enforce policies that prevent accidents. Represent the site in incident investigations and interact with OSHA and regulatory agencies regarding citations, accidents, claims, and site visits. Organize safety meetings and training, and communicate with the Capital Expenditures/Project Management team to ensure contractor and subcontractor safety. Requires extensive knowledge of OSHA Standards, four years of EHS or industrial safety experience, and OSHA 30 certification.

Required Qualifications

  • at least four (4) years of work experience in Environment health and/or industrial safety, or related field
  • Experience conducting safety audits
  • Must be able to read and analyze reports, periodicals, data, and other safety materials
  • Must have strong communication skills, both orally and written
  • Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and safety procedure manuals
  • Must possess current valid license with safe driving record

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial safety or related field
  • OSHA 30, OSHA 511 and/or OSHA 501 certification
