Job Summary
Oversee safety programs and procedures for project sites within the District, conducting trend analysis to track accidents, injuries, and incidents. Develop and deliver safety orientations, trainings, and toolbox talks for all staff while ensuring required permits and certifications remain active to avoid schedule delays. Provide technical expertise for equipment needs and inspections, managing maintenance and procurement to ensure crews have necessary safety items. Review and approve Daily Hazard Analyses, participate in Jobsite Hazard Analysis discussions, and oversee injury reporting and resolution with corrective action plans. Create and approve worksite safety and evacuation plans, supporting emergency response and vehicle access planning with the Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years' experience in construction or safety
- Experience managing construction or safety teams
- Developed skills identifying and mentoring direct report safety professionals
- Able to provide training and learning opportunities for construction teams based on expert safety knowledge and standard safety principles
- Proven skill to identify onsite project safety risks and develop innovative and compliant mitigation strategies within safety program and agency requirement standards
- Expert knowledge of construction site equipment, methods and processes
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Health & Safety or a related field
