Job Summary

Conduct daily safety inspections and audits on sites and equipment to identify, document, and resolve hazardous working conditions and unsafe behaviors. Manage the on-site safety team, oversee investigation of serious or near-miss incidents, and respond to, investigate, and follow up on safety-related issues including property damage and personal injury. Work with project teams to ensure activities address risks to personnel, operations, the public, and assets while developing and sustaining safety training on topics such as fall protection, trenching, and confined space. Review completed job hazard analyses, permits, and emergency action plans; regularly interface with general contractors and subcontractors to lead incident reviews and prevent operational impacts. May occasionally respond to emergencies during non-business hours.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety (or related field)
  • minimum of 3+ years' experience in construction safety
  • equivalent combination of training and related experience
  • Previous construction jobsite safety experience
  • valid driver's license

  • This is a full-time on-site position
  • This is not a hybrid or remote position
  • This position will be primarily located onsite in the Casey, IL area
  • occasional time spent working out of the main office in Fenton, MO
  • This position may require some travel (<10%)
  • Work schedule may vary due to construction schedule

  • Thorough knowledge related to the safe operation of construction sites, including but not limited to, trenching and excavation, scaffolding, forklift operation, cranes/hoists, fall protection, signs/barricades, steel erection, hand/portable tools, confined space, and hearing conservation
  • Understands and can utilize data management tools used for analyzing construction reporting data
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Requires strong organizational skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience with electrical construction
  • Possess a valid OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510 designation
  • Possess a valid certificate as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)
