Safety Manager

Job Summary

Manage implementation of the project safety and health program across all construction activities, providing field leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOE, and site-specific requirements. Perform routine inspections and audits for excavation, heavy equipment, welding, and confined spaces while reviewing Job Hazard Analyses and coordinating with subcontractors and superintendents. Lead incident investigations, track corrective actions, and exercise stop-work authority for imminent dangers. Maintain safety documentation and support client and DOE audits. Requires minimum 7 years of construction safety experience, OSHA 30-Hour certification, and US citizenship.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of construction safety experience
  • Safety leadership experience on industrial, heavy civil, utility, or large-scale construction projects
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements and industry safety practices
  • Experience providing safety oversight for high-hazard construction activities
  • Experience with incident investigation, corrective actions, field inspections, and safety program implementation
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
  • Must be a US Citizen

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Previous DOE, nuclear, federal, or highly regulated construction experience
  • Experience with DOE construction safety requirements
  • Previous Savannah River Site or other DOE site experience
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or similar professional safety certification
