Job Summary
Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies tailored to civil construction projects involving concrete, underground utilities, and earthwork. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance issues. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate safety into project planning and execution phases. Provide ongoing safety training and education for all personnel, investigate incidents and near misses to generate reports and preventive recommendations, and maintain accurate records of safety-related activities. Serve as the primary point of contact for safety inquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders while staying current with industry trends and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in safety management
- Experience in safety management within civil construction
- Strong understanding of concrete, underground utilities, and earthwork
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences
- Strong leadership qualities
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving safety issues
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, or equivalent
- Experience with safety management software
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
