Job Summary
Safety & Health Specialist responsible for supporting the administration of Granite’s Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) at an assigned location, including inspections, audits, safety meetings, training, regulatory inspections, incident investigations, hazard analyses, and coordination with regulatory agencies and medical/testing facilities to promote a safe work environment. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field (preferred) and 3+ years in construction or a related safety role; duties include developing and reviewing job hazard analyses, identifying hazards and control measures, documenting near-miss investigations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and contributing to a proactive safety program. Proficient communication, organizational, and time-management skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field (preferred)
- 3+ years’ experience in construction or applicable industry with safety related responsibilities required
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal safety and health regulations
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work in high production environment and respond swiftly
- Attention to detail and prioritization
- Motivated self-starter
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
