Safety, Health, and Environmental Specialist

Job Summary
Coordinate training programs by scheduling sessions, managing conference rooms, and delivering safety compliance education. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions, while leading the identification and correction of safety and environmental risks. Manage administrative duties including data entry, filing records, tracking payments, ordering supplies, and updating regulatory schedules. Conduct monthly audits of fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, and safety showers, and perform general maintenance such as refilling first aid kits and updating evacuation maps. Enforce PPE policies and support emergency response activities. Serve as a role model for safe personal practices and align all procedures with OSHA, state, and federal laws. Collaborate with all departments on safety matters and assist employees with safety supply distribution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent to years of experience
- 5 + years of EHS
- Ability to communicate effectively and conduct the presentation
- Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Ability to manage projects and meetings and lay a close attention to details
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to work around various chemicals in a manufacturing environment
- A work ethic that includes a strong desire for continued improvement
- Also solve problems with a positive attitude and sound attention to details
- The ability to lift 20 lbs.
