Job Summary
Field Safety Manager based in Lake Charles, LA, provides point-of-contact safety support for the field construction team; leads safety program implementation, conducts daily field inspections, manages PPE allocation, mentors field safety personnel, leads JHAs and risk assessments, coordinates incident investigations and corrective actions, maintains safety documentation, ensures regulatory compliance (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA, DOT), promotes a safety-first culture, develops site-specific safety plans, conducts safety audits, and collaborates with project management and subcontractors; must be able to lead a high-performing team, coach staff, manage safety-related issues on-site, and possess or obtain CSP and OSHA-500 certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in safety management, environmental science, occupational health, or related field OR high school diploma/equivalent with 12+ years of direct safety experience in heavy civil construction including 5+ years on heavy highway/bridge mega projects; OSHA-500 certification and CSP preferred; valid driver’s license; bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
