SAFETY & ENVORINMENTAL COORDINATOR

Job Summary
Manage site-level safety programs by maintaining a strong presence in plant, yard, shop, and production areas to identify hazards, coach safe behavior, and reinforce expectations. Coordinate environmental reporting with the Environmental, Permitting & Property Manager while tracking KR Cares Cards, trends, and compliance gaps across OSHA, state, local, and company standards. Support required training including new-hire orientation and incident response, and investigate incidents and near misses to facilitate root cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions. Obtain OSHA 10 within four weeks and OSHA 30 within twelve weeks of start date. This hourly role reports to the Site Operations Manager and includes accountability to the KRPI Safety and Environmental Manager within the Pay for Skill structure.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of safety, environmental, manufacturing, or construction experience
- Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety programs
- Must have, or obtain OSHA 10 within four weeks of start date
- Must have, or obtain OSHA 30 within twelve weeks of start date
- Experience conducting inspections, audits, or incident investigations
- Strong communication and training skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry/reporting systems
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in prestressed/precast concrete, manufacturing, or construction materials
- Safety certification or progress toward certification (e.g. CSP or equivalent)
- Experience supporting environmental compliance programs
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout, fall protection, mobile equipment, and machine guarding
- Experience delivering safety orientations or training sessions
- Spanish language ability is advantageous
