Job Summary

Conduct OSHA, EPA, and DOT required training covering forklift operations, hazardous waste, spill prevention, and fall protection. Maintain Safety Data Sheets inventory, perform inspections on emergency equipment, and utilize lean manufacturing techniques to identify hazards. Perform industrial hygiene monitoring for noise and air quality, assist in incident investigations, and manage environmental permits for air quality, storm water, and industrial discharge. Research and maintain PPE inventory while preparing safety information for KPI reports and job bids.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health or related field
  • Previous work or internship experience preferably in a manufacturing and/or construction environment
  • Previous education and/or certification(s) in industrial hygiene
  • Previous education and/or certification(s) in indoor/outdoor air quality
  • Previous education and/or certification(s) in ergonomics/human factors
  • Previous education and/or certification(s) in environmental toxicology
  • Previous education and/or certification(s) in epidemiology
  • Previous education and/or certification(s) in management and occupation safety (OSHA regulations)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific or technical journals, financials and/or legal documents
  • Ability to respond to inquiries, complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
  • Ability to present information to top management, public groups and/or boards
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and successfully meet goals
  • Must be tactful and able to work with a diverse group of Associates and outside resources
  • Knowledge of Local, State and Federal safety and environmental regulations, to include EPA, OSHA, DEQ, RCRA, and others
  • First Aid/CPR certification
