Job Summary
Safety & Environmental Specialist to implement and coordinate the safety, health, and environmental program across Carter Machinery locations; lead EHS team initiatives; develop safety policies and procedures to comply with OSHA and MSHA; handle regulatory reporting and recordkeeping; travel extensively within the company footprint; requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; on-site Richmond, VA, role with potential for varied hours to meet business demands; promotes a positive customer experience and upholds core values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in EHS or related field (preferred)
- Minimum of five years occupation safety and health experience
- Experience leading others in achieving EHS program excellence at a company level
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to develop safety policies and procedures to comply with OSHA and MSHA
- Ability to assist with regulatory reporting and recordkeeping
- Willingness to work extra hours including days, nights, and weekends
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent driving record
- Extensive travel within Carter Machinery’s footprint
