Job Summary
Safety Engineer responsible for health and safety inspection and oversight on construction projects, producing, implementing, and enforcing an Accident Prevention Plan (APP) per TMG’s Safety and Health Program. On-duty during work, overseeing crews, ensuring adherence to safety rules, and coordinating with the Director of Corporate Safety & Field Training. Primary duties include preparing job-specific APPs and AHAs, enforcing project safety provisions, conducting site inspections and reporting violations, coordinating emergency responses, delivering safety training, and developing/updating safety policies and construction-related specifications.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of Construction Industry safety experience on similar projects in supervising or managing general or industry construction (managing safety programs or processes, or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls)
- 24 hours of documented formal or online safety and health-related coursework in the past three years
- training in PPE, hazard communication, excavation, scaffolding, fall protection, and confined space
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification (within past 5 years)
- USACE Quality Control Management Certificate
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED Training
- High School Diploma
- MS Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency
- ability to lift and handle 50-pound objects
- ability to walk job sites, climb ladders and stairs multiple times daily
- clean driving record
- 1 grace period up to six months to obtain stated credentials
- B.S. in Safety Management is preferred
