Job Summary
Safety Engineer II responsible for implementing Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program at a project site, conducting orientation and training, auditing safety performance, analyzing safety data, and maintaining compliance with safety standards; collaborates with client safety personnel, union reps, and risk engineers; builds cross-functional relationships and leads safety initiatives across construction sites with a focus on incident analysis, PPE management, and budget oversight; requires a bachelor’s or associate’s degree in occupational safety/health or a high school diploma with CHST/STC or OSHA-30 and 5+ years’ construction experience, plus strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills; base pay ranges from $78,800 to $110,400 depending on location and experience, with regional adjustments; visa sponsorship is not offered.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in occupational safety, health, or related field preferred
- High school diploma with CHST or STS certification, OSHA 30 Hour training, and minimum five years of construction experience
- Current driver’s license
- Detail-oriented, able to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety-related software programs
- Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate company policies
- Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
